SDCC 2015: Zoom To Be The Big Bad For The Flash Season 2

At the panel today, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg let it be known that Zoom is going to be the big bad for Season 2… and he is faster than the Reverse-Flash.

Wally West will also be making his way to Central City but no casting was mentioned. Plus we’ll be seeing characters from Earth-2 as it’s the home of Jay Garrick.

We will also be picking up on the reveal during the season finale that Cisco Ramon was a metahuman. We’ll see him continue to change as the season progresses.

As for Dr. Harrison WellsTom Cavanagh is still in the show and he says that the writers want to continue to play with the duality of a character that is both good and bad.

We can also confirm more Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold and Golden Glider in the new season.

New Supergirl Trailer Brings in The Phantom Zone

Global Entertainment has posted an international trailer for the new Supergirl series. In the trailer we get a better idea of the setup for the show including how her cousin Kal-El is older than her now when he was younger when they left Krypton. Seems Kara Zor-El‘s ship was sent off course by a shock wave from the planet exploding and was sent into the Phantom Zone. She was there 24 years where no time passes.

The inclusion of the Phantom Zone in the setup gives the series a source for super-powered baddies in the same way the particle accelerator explosion created a lost of the villains for The Flash.

Supergirl is set to debut on CBS on October 26th.

No Rest For The Wicked – Arrow And Flash Writers Back To Work

We may only be a few weeks past the season finales of the CW’s hit series Arrow and The Flash, but the writers have already returned to work.

Arrow welcomes new co-showrunner Wendy Mericle as we wait to see what Oliver Queen does now that he is no longer the Arrow and new series bad Damien Darhk comes to town.

The Flash writers have their own work cut out for them picking up where the season left off… which I believe was Barry Allen trying to take on a time vortex.

I would say that with the task at hand I am not envious of their jobs… but that would be a lie. They work on two of the best shows on television, I am definitely envious.

The Flash – End Game Trailer

The CW has just released a 45 second trailer for the last 4 episodes of The Flash season one. It seems like things are really going to hit the fan. Captain Cold, Arrow, Firestorm, Everyman and more make appearances in this quick look at what is to come. The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 PM on the CW.

Franz Drameh Joins The Flash / Arrow Spinoff

We can add one more name to the cast of The Flash / Arrow spinoff series… that is Franz Drameh from Edge of Tomorrow. Drameh joins Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Caty Lotz, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Arthur Darvill and Ciara Renee in the new CW series executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim.

The character is named Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete, whose pro-career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew. According to early reports there were three characters to be cast with Darvill and Renee being the first two, the final character was said to be a young black man who got super powers in an accident and was the self-aware, snarky voice on the show.

Jay Jackson doesn’t not match up to any obvious DC character, but this could be a fake name to keep the surprise or it could be a think like Harrison Wells, made up name that is really an established character. The description of the character made me think of three possibles. Static from the initial description. Cyborg from the new description of being a former athlete. Or the long shot that this is Wally West… both names use alliteration, the name Jay reminds me of Jay Garrick and Kreisberg had talked about Wally coming onto the show in the future. He may also be a recasting of Jason Rusch.

Full Title Of The Flash / Arrow Spinoff

Yesterday we shared with you a video of John Wesley Shipp from The Flash where he referred to the new spinoff series as Legends. Turns out that may be partially true. Variety ran a story talking about the offering at MipTV in Cannes where the international market can bid on new television series. The CW was pushing a series called Legends Of Tomorrow.

With MipTV wrapped, the focus now shifts to the L.A. Screenings in May. Big product suppliers were using MipTV to talk up L.A. Screenings bows that include, in terms of shows attracting attention for WBITVD, “Supergirl” for CBS, “Blindspot” for NBC, “Legends of Tomorrow” for CW, and also “The Curse of the Fuentes Women,” for NBC.

This could be the title of The Flash / Arrow spinoff that is set to star Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Caty Lotz, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Ciara Renee and Arthur Darvill. But it is possible that the title is a place holder. We are likely to hear more about it at the CW’s upfronts presentation on May 14th.

Did John Wesley Shipp Leak The Name Of The Flash / Arrow Spinoff

John Wesley Shipp, the actor who played the Flash in the 90s and plays Henry Allan now, was at Cape Comic Con recently and in a discussion… in what appears to be a class room… he let slip that the new Arrow / The Flash spinoff series was going to be called Legends and already has a 13 episode order from CW.

Legends was a crossover comic series from DC in the late 80s that pitted Darkseid vs the Phantom Stranger. There was also Legends of the DC Universe that ran 41 issues. There was recently a series on TNT called Legends starring Sean Bean… so that could be problem if Shipp is right..

The comments are in the second part… but I’ve included the first part as well.
