Hannibal Is Coming To SDCC!

Last night there was a “Hannibal” screening event and along with talking about which parts of “Red Dragon” everyone is excited to bring to the screen, this little nugget of information was dropped as well.

It shouldn’t be a huge surprise. “Hannibal” has quickly become a favorite among San Diego Comic-Con attendees. Not only do the fans embrace the show, the show embraces the fans which is always great to see. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Nerd HQ panel happen as well. While nothing has been announced yet, Hugh Dancy did take part in a panel last year. I know Nerd HQ frequently has return guests so just keep that in mind when trying to work out your schedules!

Are you excited about the news? Anyone planning cosplay in honor of the show? Let us know!

Marvel and Hasbro Reveal 2014 Comic-Con Exclusive Infinity Gauntlet Toy Set

With ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ set to launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe into space and beyond, the toy companies are responding appropriately. After all, you can’t introduce the cosmic side of the Marvel world to mainstream audiences without throwing the real nerds a bone … and by bone, we mean cool exclusive action figures that can only be picked up at Comic-Con 2014.

Initially revealed over at USA Today, Hasbro’s new cosmic-themed toy sets aren’t just slapped together — each of them is based on a famous comic book storyline (that just so happens to share characters and ideas with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ of course).

First, there’s the set based on the iconic “Infinity Gauntlet” storyline, which packages the mad titan Thanos with his protege Nebula, his rival Starfox and the love of his life Mistress Death. Retailing for $74.99, the set of 3 3/4″ figures also includes your own foam, wearable Infinity Gauntlet, letting you pretend to dominate the galaxy from the relative safety of your mom’s basement.

Sorry. We couldn’t resist.

The second set is from the far more recent “Thanos Imperative” storyline. It’ll set you back $99.99, but if you want 6″ versions of Black Bolt, Medusa, Star-Lord and Blaastar packaged in a box that looks like the Galactus Engine, that’s a small price to pay.

First Photo From Under The Dome Season 2 Premiere

We last left off CBS’ adaptation of Stephen King’s Under the Dome with the whole town under the dome going completely black and then completely white, and now here we have the first look at season 2, which seems to indicate the dome has become some sort of giant magnet.

The series’ plot points have already strayed pretty far from King’s original novel, but the author himself penned the season 2 premiere episode, so I wonder if that means it’s going to be drawing back closer or if King is just going to follow what the showrunners have mapped out on their own.

Season 2 of Under the Dome premieres on CBS on Monday, June 30 at 10PM.

First Promo For Immortal Detective Show, Forever

Another of this autumn’s new shows is Forever, a detective procedural with a twist. Simply put, the lead character is immortal and has been around for a very long time.

Okay, that’s really got some potential. I’m hoping it comes off. And Ioan Gruffudd’s good, and I’m glad to see him get one of these slightly-battered roles. Brad Anderson’s a pretty sensible choice of pilot director too.

First Official Promo Art For Marvel’s Agent Carter TV Series

Now that ABC have officially announced that their Agent Carter show is a go, they can let this bit of Photoshop fun out of the labs. What’s more, here’s the plot blurb:

Marvel’s Agent Carter, starring Captain America’s Hayley Atwell follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad.

Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, along with the short Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.

Starring Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, Marvel’s Agent Carter is executive produced by Christopher Markus, Steve McFeely, Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Jeph Loeb.

As we understand it, the plan is for this 13-episode miniseries to run mid-season, holding the fort while Agents of SHIELD is taking a nap. This should translate into 36 straight weeks of Marvel TV on ABC. Just 16 more weeks of something, guys, and you can be a year-round concern. Next year, maybe?

While the two SHIELD shows, modern and historical, are underway, we’ll also have the Netflix Daredevil series rolling out and Age of Ultron in cinemas. Thank heavens that Marvel are actually pretty darn good at this stuff.

No Badge Resale for Comic-Con International 2014

In past years Comic-Con International has been able to hold a sale of returned and unallocated badges in June. Unfortunately, due to an extremely low rate of refunds and cancellations this year, we are not able to hold a resale of Comic-Con 2014 badges. Thank you for your support and understanding. – See more at: http://www.comic-con.org/toucan/no-badge-resale-comic-con-international-2014#sthash.56XOpAtp.dpuf
