Hasbro’s 2011 Mighty Muggs Exclusive!

Better late to the party than not arriving at all, Hasbro has just unveiled thier latest offering for the San Diego Comic-Con: the highly successful Mighty Muggs!

These guys have been around this show for a few years now and this year’s variation comes with a bit of a twist:

MINI MUGGS! This boxed set of 5 is looking pretty boss, with four mini-figures depicting the classic Avenger’s line-up consisting of Thor, Hulk, Captain America, and Iron Man as well as a full-sized Giant Man Mugg towering over the other four. I am very pleased with the brilliant packaging having Pym’s head smashing through the roof.

Nerd HQ 2011

The Nerd Machine is taking over the Gaslamp District and transforming Jolt’N Joe’s restaurant into the center of the Nerdiverse.

In partnership with Break.com, Xbox, and Gunnar Optiks, the Nerd HQ is the destination for a unique and more intimate, personal experience.

The Nerd HQ is rallying the nerd army so they can share in all the gaming, technology, and entertainment we all love. And oh yea, there is no admission cost, everybody is welcome to enjoy. The Nerd HQ is an all ages event where you all nerds are welcome. However, at 8pm, local laws require us to raise the age limit to 21 and over. If you are interested in volunteering please click below!

Break Media, the online video sponsor, will be covering the event and posting reports from Nerd HQ and the SDCC. We are also creating 3 original videos in promotion of the event that will begin airing around July 4. Xbox, the official console of the HQ, will be providing interactive gaming areas for all HQ visitors to enjoy. Gears of War 3, Rayman and Gunstringer will all play prominently at the HQ. We will set the record for the most dancers in one game of the Kinect’s new “Dance Central 2”. Gunnar Optiks, the official eyewear of the HQ, will be providing demo glasses for gamers and techies alike.

The Second Annual NERD Party will be bigger and better than ever at the HQ. Great sounds from DJ NERD, Kinect dancing, drink specials, and more.

The Nerd HQ will be launching our first series of “Conversations for a Cause” featuring your favorite stars from the world of entertainment and technology. These discussions of less than 250 will provide a much more personal connection with the speakers. “Conversations” with will include stars from “Firefly”, “Battlestar Galactica”, “Stoopid Monkey”, and friends of Zac Levi. The “Conversations” will be followed by an autograph signing in the exhibition room. Check back soon for the schedule.

One hundred percent of your $20 dollar (or more) donation goes to providing life-changing surgeries for children through Operation Smile.

The Inaugural “Nerd Machine Shorties” will be available throughout the event and the Top Videos will be placed on Break.com so they can be rated. A viewing and awards ceremony will take place at Sunday’s Nerd Brunch. Toshiba tablets will be available to rate the videos on Break.com. Prizes include Xbox packages, GUNNAR Optiks, and more.

Single Day Badge Reminder

A reminder that CCI has posted information saying that Single Day Badge sales will be starting up soon. My guess would be sometime this week but be sure to keep an eye on their Facebook and Twitter pages!

Your Registration Process

To participate in the badge resale, click the button above that says, “Badge Resale Registration is OPEN”. This link will not be active until registration opens.

For 2011 badge resale, EPIC registration has developed an online waiting room where you will be placed in line (in the order you arrived) to enter the online registration session to purchase badges. After you select the link above, you will be redirected to the EPIC registration website and their online waiting room.

Your browser should have JavaScript and cookies enabled to function reliably with the waiting room. These features are usually enabled in the default configuration of most modern web browsers.

DO NOT MANUALLY REFRESH OR RELOAD THE WAITING ROOM PAGE IN YOUR BROWSER! Running multiple “tabs” or browser windows of the EPIC waiting room will cause you to be placed at the back of the line. If you refresh this page while in the EPIC waiting room, you will lose your spot in line and be moved to the back of the queue. It is therefore very important that you do not refresh or hit your browser’s “back” button while you are in the queue for badge registration.

While in the waiting room, you will be able to see your current position in line. Your number in line will automatically update every two minutes. There will also be a black registration status message with yellow text. EPIC registration will monitor badge sales closely and update this status message when inventory is running low. Should badges sell out before you are placed in your online registration session, this message will notify you.

You may be able to purchase up to two single day Comic-Con badges during your online registration session, while supplies last. If you would like to buy an additional badge for a guest, you must complete your first transaction and pay for your badge before you may purchase an additional badge. You will not have to return to the waiting room for your second purchase. Due to overwhelming demand for 2011 badges, all badge categories may be sold out before you have the option to purchase an additional badge.

Once you have been moved from the waiting room to your online registration session, you will enter your name and contact information. Please enter your full legal name as shown on your valid photo ID. You will be required to show a photo ID that matches the name on your barcode confirmation when picking up your badge.

After your contact information has been submitted, you may select your desired badge category: Adult, Junior, Senior, or Military. After agreeing to the Cancellation, Refund, and Exchange Policy, you will be prompted to enter your credit card information and review the accuracy of your order. If all information is correct, please type “AGREE” in the box below after reviewing the “Terms and Conditions,” then click the [Process My Registration] button at the bottom of this page. Upon submitting your order, your credit card will immediately be charged.

Print this page for your records, then select the [Purchase Another Badge] button to buy an additional badge, or click on [Return to Comic-Con Website] to exit the EPIC registration session.

You will receive a barcode e-mail confirmation from EPIC registration for your purchase, sent to the e-mail address you provided during registration. Please be sure to add registration@epicreg.com to your e-mail contacts or address book so the confirmation does not go to your SPAM folder.

Thursday, July 21 at 1:45-2:45PM, Ballroom 20

RINGER: Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) makes her highly anticipated television return in the gripping new thriller RINGER, as a woman who, after witnessing a murder, goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister — only to learn that her sister’s seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she’s trying to leave behind. Be the first to see an exclusive sneak peek of the new television series about family secrets and stolen identities followed by a panel discussion with series stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nestor Carbonell (“Lost,” “The Dark Knight”), Ioan Gruffudd (“Fantastic Four”), Kristoffer Polaha (“Life Unexpected”), Executive Producer Pam Veasey (“CSI: NY”) and Co-Executive Producers Nicole Snyder (“Supernatural”) and Eric Charmelo (“Supernatural”).

In addition to the “Ringer” panel, there will be exclusive fan giveaways during the session, including custom “Ringer” stools for everyone attending, a chance to win a three-night stay at a luxurious suite at a high-end hotel adjacent to the convention center during Comic-Con 2011 and 100 lucky fans will receive exclusive Comic-Con posters signed by the cast.

BioWare’s Comic Con Plans!

Game Developer BioWare is making it’s return to San Diego and it is bringing some awesome goods! Based once again at the Hilton Gaslamp headquarters across from the convention center, they plan on having several gaming stations showcasing both the highly anticipated Mass Effect 3 (3/6/12 can’t come soon enough) and a never before seen DLC expansion for the hit Dragon Age II titled Dragon Age Legacy. Having spent hundreds of gaming hours on both of these franchises you KNOW I will stop by at least a few times, especially since on Friday 7/22 they are hosting the first annual BioWare costume contest!

I am pretty sure that since this is off-site it will be open to all and they will have plenty of promotional swag to hand out, I am hoping for maybe some Comic-Con exclusive DLC weapon & armor codes or Xbox Avatar items myself.

BioWare is also behind the upcoming Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic MMO game so I expect to see them promoting that as well, and who knows, maybe we’ll see something as awesome as the massive blow-up sword fights they had last year. Check out the official recap video below!
